Hello All,

Look at what Ms. Clause is hooking me up with. It's a 95 540i 6 Spd. Although, she's charging me $8500, and I figured it's a decent price. Here are some pictures. What do you think? I'll more than likely sell the rims soon.

Nice.. How many miles? And yes, the ShadowLine looks good.. Price seems decent, I paid a little less about 6 months ago with 103K miles..
Rims aren't too bad.. What are they, 18" BBS RK's?

The car has ~129k Miles. The rims are 17s BBS and I am not sure of the style. What do you guys mean by "shadow lines". Is it possible to fit '20 rims on these E-34s?

You were doing good up to the point asking about 20s :) Unfortunately we here do not condone the use of anything over 19, really. 20 is stretching it.

LOL...The rims I like happen to be '20s. If the company ever returns my e-mail/call I can ask if he has 19s. Although the website only advertises 20 & 22s in this particular model.

I would really prefer to get these...but I have no idea where to go to get them. I HAVE LOOKED EVERYWHERE:( These were 17s!

I've seen pic on e34 with 20". IMO, 20" is too big. 17-18" look great on e34.

I don't think I have ever seen an E-34 with 20s. I'm not getting the 20s , the wheels cost $1300 a piece at retail price. Maybe I'll stick with these BBS for a little while....lol

With such a little sidewall on 19s or 20s and what appears to be a dropped/Sachs suspension you would kick yourself time and time again with that large of a rim. I'd go no bigger than 18s on that if you ever want to have children :p

the car looks great, i wouldnt bother with getting new wheels.

The shadowline is the trim around the windows, black instead of chrome(look at my sig for comparison)

I say all you need is blacked out kidneys, euro tails/corners/markers and youve got a perfect ride.

rnrn & Boone.Msi,

Thanks for the input. I also agree '20 would definitely be too big! Plus I live in the city and we're always worried about potholes.

Rocky, you would need to have 'rocks-in-yer-head' (pun intended) to fit 20" rims on an E34... even 19"s are too big.

18"s are realistically as big as you should go.

20" rims will...

1. Destroy any ride comfort
2. Destroy your front end components faster (due to increased unsprung weight and lack of sidewall cushioning)
3. Destroy themselves everytime you hit a pothole
4. Reduce your acceleration (due to increased mass)
5. Increase your braking distance (due to increased mass)
6. And cost you a fortune in accelerated tyre wear (20" tyres are expensive!)

Okay, I'm done now! :D

Yeh I saw that on autotrader. I believe it has been repainted. It says something about vandalism on the carfax which would explain the very clean paint. Very nice car!

Ah...haaaa.... Thanks!

I'll have to check into the vandalism claim. The gentleman stated he had it painted because of fading paint due to the Arizona "sun".

Thanks, T

Well, there IS no accounting for taste.I like the wheels on it now. I wouldn't give changeing them a second thought.

Thanks Jehu,

I might look into finding wider rims for the rear. I like wide "lips":)

The wheels in that picture look like hartge, search around for some hartge wheels and see if you can find some like that

Is Ms. Claus related to you? I want to be put on the gift list. Talk of 20s will get you excommunicated here.

19'' is stretching it. You will regret anything larger.

I have the same as Jehu, except with the 17x10 rears. Staggard is hottttt.

If you sell those wheels, you'll probably make a bit. I don't think they're made anymore and lots of people want them.

All...Thanks for all the input!

I also like the staggard look. Going TDY to Germany I saw the "staggard" set up quite a bit!

Here are the wheels I wanted to get! But I'm not b/c they're only made in 20s & 22s:( I found these at Modular Society.
