Auto dim rear view mirror

Hi all,
I just got an auto dimming rear mirror and am wondering where shall I connect it to?
It has three wires. Shall I connect it to the wires that power the inside front courtesy light?
Or shall I take all the headining down and search for a proper source?
Any tip will be appreciated.

The connector is tucked back behind the left side of the headliner, usually requires some digging to find it, but it's there.

Early cars have a 6 pin harness that's white, late cars have a 3 pin and I think it's black.

Sorry to steal the thread. Is it a OE item? Can you post some pictures, steps and cost once you are done?
