Just think, this car's been driven an avg of 5k a year! Congratulations to whoever is the new owner, what a beautiful car. If only I lived in NJ, I might have gone to check it out.

Yeh I saw that a few days ago. That seems like a killer deal if it is all there.

Fugly in my book, but that means jack. With 30 bids, that was a pretty furious auction.

Can't be many low mileage 540/6s out there irrespective of color.

Agreed, I'm not a big fan of the black on beige either

I wondered about this too, seeing as 5k a year of local stop and go NY driving is probably worse than 100k highway miles (?)

No e34's came with that spoiler. I bought one on ebay for my 530i and it was about 6 inches too short. Huge waste of money.

I spoke to the seller. He is a dealer in Jersey with a heavy middle-eastern accent. He listed her in AutoTrader and Cars.com for $9k and wouldn't budge.
It sold on eBay, then relisted 3 days later. When I called him the second time he was a bit evasive on the relist issue and why the original bidder didn't complete the transaction. I suspected shill bidding on his part. It sold the second time and I haven't seen it since.
I did ask him specifically about the Nikasil block, and he pled ignorant. I asked him the manufacture date and he thought it was a july 95, but I couldn't understand him with the heavy accent, he seemed to want to me to tell him what I wanted to hear.
All in all, I spoke with the seller 3 times, and each time he seemed less and less credible. Being in Western NY (OH/PA) it isn't like I am around the corner to see it in person. If she was what he claimed she was, I blew off a sweet car. I almost would rather not know. Who knows, he may even still have the car.

Yeah I spoke with the same guy... interestingly, though, he seemed pretty straight-forward to me. He told me upfront that the Nikasil block had not been changed, which as we have found, at this point in the car's life probably doesn't make a difference. Sweet looking car, but like you, I was not close enough to check it out.

I'd informally had it for sale last fall for 9500 - Had a couple of pretty serious forum folks come by and look at it and drive it. They all loved it. Only catch was & I was very up front about it - I would not move off of 9500. Biggest down fall of the car is it was driven daily by my dad through all those Chicago suburb winters. Last summer I basically rebuilt the entire front half of the car, including powdercoating the crossmembers. This winter I'd planned on doing the rear subframe, while I replace the rear shocks to Koni's like the front. As bad as it sounds, I don't have any current pictures of the car, but would say the flaws are a driver side fender which I suspect is rusting behind the ground effects, and a couple of door dings from someone who really went out of their way to hit it hard.
