I've got a '97 318 that I've owned for 8 years, has been well maintained and historically has not had any major problems. Recently I've noticed that the gas mixture doesn't seem right - smell indicates it's running too rich or too lean, not sure which. Then a few weeks ago I got a check engine / service light, and last week noticed that after I left the car idling in the garage for about 5 minutes to warm up, a 3' pool of fresh, wet gasoline accumulated directly beneath the engine bay. Anybody have any insights into what might be the problem, before I take it in for $ervice? Thx!

Usually not the injectors but the fuel lines will leak when the car gets old.
Check that out immy, have seen cars burning because of this.
Fuel injectors leaking into the engine but not outside.
Best is to replace all rubber fuel line. I found some in my 1988 car which were brittle like glass.
