jammed ignition

i am unable to turn the key to the primary or even secondary stage. it simply just won't let me turn it and actually seems jammed. i thought it was the steering lock, but that wasn't it. any suggestions on what to do or even how to take it apart correctly. k thanks.

are you 100% positive that it's not the steering lock? I had this problem as well, turns out the wheel was just ALL the way locked.

I has this happen to me Friday evening - I had to turn the wheel almost 1/4 turn to get it to disengage and let me start the car.
