I cannot disarm the alarm. I can still unlock the car manually but then the alarm goes off and It won't start. I put new batteries in the key fob, but I guess now I have to reprogram it?? Can someone tell me how to reprogram it?

Most of the time the keyless entry doesn't work if I am near automatic doors like at the grocery store, walgreens, or whatever. So I assume this is the RF version. It is currently parked across the street from a bank. I can't get it to work at all. Does the alarm automatically disarm after a certain amount of time????

I have plans to drive 8 hours home for Thanksgiving tomorrow, so I'm pretty pissed about this.

The car is 95 540i/6, build date 11/94. It's the key/keyless entry, ya know all one piece.

Thanks Jehu. Does this work while the alarm is going off???
I do not have the owner's manual. Didn't come with the car.
How do I disarm the alarm without the keyless entry???

stick the key in the ignition and turn it to position 1 ... after 30 seconds the alarm should go off.

Thanks Qsilver7, wish I would have known that earlier. Guess I should shop around for an owners manual.

Well last night I went out to mess with it once more. Out of pure luck I suppose, the keyless entry disarmed/unlocked the car when I put it right over the rearview mirror. So I jumped in and reprogramed both keys then locked the car manually without trying to arm the alarm again. It was at a tire shop supposed to get some tires mounted. I'll screw with it more later.
