View Full Version : Any new solutions to an old problem?

My dip beams won't work. I know... the relays in the LKM need to be re-soldered and the joints checked.

This I've done but my headlights still don't work.

A silly question perhaps, but do LKMs fail?
All other lights work fine and no error messages are reported by the Check Engine light strip.

Does anyone have any ideas that will let me see the light?

have you got power at the fuses, there are at least three?

I checked fuses 2, 10 and 11, lights off and lights (theoretically) on.
2's fine anyway given that it's necessary for high-beam too and my high-beams work.
10 and 11 (left and right low beams respectively) return 9.62V regardless if the headlights are switched on or off.
I realise that according to info I've read that this value is more or less normal when the lights are off. But obviously 12V should be feeding through when on.

Is it a matter of a kaputt LKM?

Your photo is almost cruel, brazenly showing off the luxury of functioning low-beams! ;-)

Should it be a case of LKM replacement, does anyone know how interchangable these units are?

Mine is a LKM (B) 61.35-1 379 372
but some 64.35-8 350 375 or 62.35-1 379 371 models are available on-line.

Any good?

I once had 2 bulbs go at the same time, I was convinced it was the switch. Many hours later I checked the bulbs. Just a stupid question.

A fair question.
But I checked the bulbs, and even tried a spare set I have, but I'm still left in the dark.

I take it your talking about the Single and double board LKM. You can run them with out any problems.
