Just bought a aftermarket second hand M5 backbox and is gonna try and fit it to my 535is. One of my tail pipes fell off so this could be a cheap fix.

I know that 535 exhausts come only as the cat back but do you think it'll be poss to cut the old back box off and weld the new M5 one on? Im sending it to a proper exhaust centre which know me really well so are gonna give it a try.

Advise please, thanks in advance dudes.

with a little welding it should work just fine, from the resonator back at least on the us cars they are the same system with larger or smaller pipes depending on engine size, the stubby pipes in front of the resonator that connect to the cat are different lengths from e34 to the e32 and e32 il, i had a complete cat back system from a 750il on my 535 with it's 2.5" pipes inplace of the 535 with it's 1.75" pipes and muffler
