Have you tried Tibetan Monks?

should be some suitable flat jacking points on ether end of the pinchweld, been long enough since i had our 840 up on the lift i can't positively remember, should look like your e34 with a couple little areas for the factory jack, it's fine to floor jack there, insulate with a block of wood if you are worried

Try using the wood you've been sporting since you bought this thing!

heh, the car isnt even lowered, saw the frame rails but the jack is too tall to get far enough in to lift it. need like a micro jack or something. The factory is ok but you know, Id like to actually work on the thing rather than just stare it it and ramps can only do soo much.

looks like the lower control arm bushings are puking from what I saw changing the wheels over.

Wonder if I can find another jack and chop it up to accomodate the floor jack. the 7 cars arent like this are they?

last time i was jacking up my 525i which is really low, i did the next thing:

i set up a little couple of bricks and a plank mini ramp :D and drove one of my front wheels up the ramp. that lifted the whole car up one side. and then i was able to stick the jack under it and get it under a solid area where i can lift my car :)

removal is reverse of installation :)

no no no, you guys dont follow. This things factory jack sticks into the side of the rocker and then you raise the thing. Reg E34 points are gone, not available, just plastic. Ill have my bud build some adapters and then Ill be ok. Prob pricey tho. Wish there was something simpler.

My 318is is lowered to the point that the shop jack doesn't allow me to get to the frame rails or cross member. I drive it up on (4) 2x4s maybe 18 to 24" long laying flat. That does the trick but it is a pain.

I wish you the best with that, it sure looks nice!

A good E31 board is roadfly, although RF is not my favorite, but the members there know a lot.

yeah E31 is like an E36 jack. Just get it by the rails. We use aluminum low profile jack as an initial lifter and then a craftsman 3 ton after i get it like 6" off.

if we can jack this vw up, you can do an E31 ;)

Here's the pic of the e36 jack plate from bimmerworld.com, $34US. It would be a needed item for me, if my big floor jack didn't work with a block of wood. The m3 isn't really all that low with the dynan suspension. Have ya tried rolling the front tires onto a 2x6" for some extra height?
