So, the resurrected thread about the "best" E34 color motivated me to post some photos from this last year. True, most people don't find themselves dreaming about tan cars. But after owning this one, its caused me to realize that 1) BMW never does a bad paint job and 2) Certain BMW models look better in certain colors; If I bought another E34, white is the only color I would take before kashmere-beige metallic. (Okay, black looks great, but does not hide its age well enough IMO).

Not too many folks on the board have this color, so I thought I'd "represent" with a few photos. Recent changes to the front end include a painted lower bumper, new fog lights, and license plate removal.

I almost got a Kashmir '95 525i, but found this one.

I LOVE Alpine, and I typically hate white on cars.

I've grown attached to this color....but..... If I painted the car, I think I would go with a very dark blue.

Beige sort of weathers badly and shows those fine micro scratches for some reason but I'm getting her painted next spring and it'll be Beige again. I like the way the black trim works with the Beige. My first choice is Alpine White also and I have a 94 540 which satisfies that itch.

My e34 was originally tan (beige or whatever you call it), but I got it repainted to jet black. More maintenance, but it looks better in my opinion . . . .

Man, I just can't bring myself to like it! :(

Yours is well-modded though...

looks pretty good. I can't wait to get my lowers painted, but I think the painted "cover" and alt cooling duct look a bit awkward.

we used to have a 316 in that color, it is satisfying after a good detailing job

You make an interesting observation... I actually didn't realize that those covers (between foglights) are not usually painted until after I had the work done. On whether or not I should turn them back to black, however, I'm still undecided. More painted surfaces usually = newer looking car, but then there's also the possible "heightening" effect of the painted covers that could make the car look taller and counteract the overall wider/lower look. Opinions?
