Hello peole, got a bit of an issue with my oil cooler. It looks like the previous owner replaced the pipe from the oil cooler rad. It is meant to have a metal pipe which should be soldered on direct from the rad. It looks like its just some standard rubber & the metal pipe is no more.

Just wondering what can be done as BMW want around £270.00 for a new oil cooler. I am asking a few people to see whether they can customise the metal pipe & solder it on.

I don't want the oil to heat up & then melt through the rubber as it will lead to me losing my engine.

Any suggestions? If i need to buy a new oil cooler, any ideas?

Many thanks, BJ.

www.m5board.com is a great resource of European based posters specifically commenting on the e34 M5. I love this board as well but M5-specific questions are best posed there.
