has anyone tried one of these kits? i want to start rebuilding my suspension and for all that u get its not a bad price. I know they sell kits like these for E30s and the E30 crowd seems to like them.

Try doing a search. You will get good results out of this. I believe you will find alot of answers to your questions. My opinion? Lemforder.

Try a search under FCP Groton or hamburg Tech.

You'll get a whole bunch of e34 guys with all kinds of stories to tell and lots of practice on front end rebuilds.

short answer? FCP blows. long answer? it will fail after 10,000 miles or so and you'll have to do it all over again so why waste the money on cheap ****? you get what you pay for.

Does anybody know how often the ball joints go bad on the lower control arms? I have a press and the urge to just order some m5 bushings.

it varies, id guess its good for 2 bushing cycles. The M5 bushes were the ticket man, no shaking even with off balance wheels.

man your jumping hoops without getting the full picture man! Meyle=crap too, do a search. So far only Lemforder parts have done the job without inferior parts. Meyle may be the same quality as FCP hamburger parts.

see BMAparts site and call them to get a price on the arms with the "750" bushing or "M5" bushings as they will last longer.

you really need to research before throwing your money out there.

take a peak at this: http://www.bimmer.info/forum/showthread.php?t=24269&highlight=meyle

I've been buying from FCP Groton for both my Volvo and BMW's for about 8 years and other than some weak tailgate struts on the Volvo, which were replaced under warranty, I've had no problems. Great guys to deal with when and if there's a problem. Yeah they did send the wrong control arms once. Can't beat the price and I've had no parts failures.

I've never had a problem with FCP parts, but then again I never keep my cars for more than 6 months :)
