Okay, so it's not an E34.
I sadly had to trade my '90 E34 a year ago, and remember how great the E34 forum members were for help. I'm also assuming that some E34 owners may have an E46 in their stable......

Anyways,
I have a 4dr E46 323i with the plain manual seats and need better support due to a back Op.

I know that the E46 electric "Sports" seats bolt straight in, but want to know how hard it is to retrofit the electrics.

Is there a wiring harness that can be plugged in to, or do you need to put in new wiring to power the seats?

I've spoken with BMW parts locally (Sydney Australia) and they know nothing (how unusual...).

Any help appreciated.

you're in luck... I'm here. :)

1. Sport seats come power and manual.
They came manual on all 323's (MY '99, '00), 325's (MY '01+) and 328's without premium package or without the power seat option, obviously.
2. Sports seats came in manual on 330's in '01 ONLY; in '02 all 330 seats were powered.
3. There is a power lumbar support option, something you might want, and that came ONLY on 328's and 330's with sport and premium package and those seats were only power.

the above site is full of kids, but you can find good info when you search.

Edit - the above is for US market cars only!

Yes, i too miss my E34 and I miss this site too. :(

And, since your car is a coupe, you should look into he even better M3 seats... they offer more support than the SP seats, and also come in all flavors.

edit - you dont have a sedan, but coupe and M3 seats will work in your sedan (salon :P )... i was confused by your topic line.

cheers...

Awesome!
I will look at getting an Auto sparky to wire up for me.

Ah.
4 door (sedan/saloon?), not 2dr Coupe.
