Yup - looks a lot like the E34 we stripped out. Amazing, huh?

Can you imagine what an airplane cable harness looks like?

So this is where we say... run another wire instead of tracing a break somewhere, right? Woo...

Looks fun, if only I had the knowledge to pull something like that off.

Doesn't take any knowledge to pull it off. It's putting it back on that's a problem... :D

The first time lifted the rear seat and saw the bundle of wires exiting the rm etc i rushed around to the boot expecting to find a telephone exchange!

How much do all those harnesses weigh?

Including modules such as LKM, GM, CCM, MOTRONIC's, EML and engine main loom I assume maybe 70-90 kg.
I could not carry the box alone we put it in.
The flloor carpet is also quite heavy with the thick sound absorbing material.

been there done that, three times, first complete harness job i did was in a low mile 88 325ic light fire damage, second was a 92 525 water car and the last was my 90 535 that i bought with damage from a small dash fire, i did my 535 in a week during vacation time and i completely gutted it taking time to update the hvac to the later non sword system and install the later sound system, it would be easier to list the parts on that car that i didn't remove at one time or another, front fenders, front and rear sub frames, trunk, front and back glass and i never removed the core support, i removed and installed every other component on that car at least once

Make your browser window bigger -- the menu on the right interrupts the flow of the page, pushing the 4 pictures down.

And yeah, there's only 4.
