Horrible paint job... and I think it needs a carfax.

I know it's strange to say but it looks too clean! I'm mostly talking about the engine bay. If it's only 9g's it's seems like someone's trying to hide something with a really thurough detailing.

Horrible paint job... and I think it needs a carfax.I saw that on ebay. It still shows up in the finished auctions. Check out that blue engine block. Didn't make the reserve and the high bid was around $7k.

I would not let a picture of a clean engine sway me. When I bought mine it was absolutely spotless under the hood--cleaner than that. What it did show off was the new water pump, radiator, hoses, and bushings. All things you worry about when buying one of these cars. You also tend to poke around under there more if it's clean.

The wiring looms over the engine look off too. Missing the wire chanel in the back (i'm kinda guessing on this one dont see many M5s).

Hood not lined up. The front subframe looks too new. It's all bent up underneath. Trim pushpins not there, wiring loom is not stock, missing all the little caps on brake caliper pins, etc.etc.etc.

But it does look flashy.

10 grand for an M5 with only 65k miles?

I'd drive down there and buy it if it were legit. Probably totaled and rebuilt in the Dominican Republic.

Wonder how straight the frame is...

The Weaver's are good guys, IMHO. If you ask them, I'm sure they'll tell you what they know about it's history. If this is the car I think it is- it was sitting in a guy's garage for a while, until he died, then a neighbor of Weaver's bought it and started putting it back in shape- but he lost interest and the Weaver's bought it from him.

The 2nd guy bought some black interior bits from me for the car, and Weaver bought the tubular front subframe from me for it.

I have not seen the car in person.

I obviously don't have an M5, and don't visit the m5board, so I would have no idea of its history.
