how hard is it, and do i need the tool to compress the spring to take it out?
had a friend install his new suspention without it.... weird

you need a compressor to get the old springs out, lowering springs are usually not as tall and you can push the top mount down far enough to get the bolt started.

Its not to bad to do. I did mine in 2.5 hours. Front and rear. If you are mechanically inclined, and understand directions, your good to go. You also need to have a good set of tools, plus a spring compressor. Good luck. Do read all post when searched, and checkout E34net about the steps you need to take.
