OK,ive got my 520 SE auto and ive driven it once,i can make it move forward and backward and could get along fine with that, but id like to know what each position on the 2 levers does.

A descripton of when, how and why each position should be used would be great

P
R
D
N
4
3
2

and the other lever that has
E
S
Snow

What do they do and when and why shud u se each feature?and how do u select them?must u be stationary?

check your owner's manual or buy one. This may be obvious. But so many people never ever look at thier manual or it is missing.

On the BMW automatic you would use the “R” position for Racing.

Yeah, he's right. Honda copied it.

Sport mode holds the gear in for longer, with Economy mode the transmission would usually shift at around 2500rpm, in Sports mode it will shift at around 4000-4500rpm.

Also the usual order is PRND not PRDN :)

You can park your car in P or in N, but P is recommended more as the transmission is locked, which is extra security when parking on a hill as you're not relying on the handbrake to keep the car from moving.

Many people may say it's OK to park with N and keep the transmission disengaged from anything and rely on the handbrake, but I refuse to do this as a neighbour of mine died when her Ford Falcon rolled over her because her handbrake gave way and the car was parked in Neutral. I'd rather not have that happen to me, or to a kid who might be playing behind my car or something.

As someone said, all of this is explained in the user manual, and no offence or anything but unless your car didn't come with one, you really have no excuse not to read it.
