it depends if the 93 has the small late style amp, if it looks the same then it will work, the plugs are the same shape cept for one has a couple more pins on the earlyer amp, the later unit has two totally different plugs, a e32 amp works for early cars too as long as it's not the rare infinity system, it will plug in but the crossover is totally different and you get some weird harmonics (tried it in my car as a potential upgrade and about halfway home i had to turn it off, it was ****ing with my inner ear)

I just removed an amp from a 1990 525i, but according to the Bentley manual, it is a 1993. The Bentley manual shows the wiring diagram for the Radio from 89-92 and 94-95 having a 12pin and a 26pin input connector and it shows the 1993 Radio as having two 12pin input connectors.

Have no idea how the 1993 wiring got into my 1990, but the connectors are two 12-pin both on the wiring connectors and the amplifier.

the plugs behind the radio on a 1993 are different from a 1990. I would say the amp imput harness is diffrent also.
