I got my blue bmw coolant & distilled water mixed to 50/50 waiting to go in and I just thought I'd post a thread while I'm waiting on a cool down cycle....

I just finished the 3rd flush and the coolant still had some green to it :( lol.....

And after driving around with the water I put in after that 3rd flush the coolant is still looks green lol!

Can't wait for the water to be clear looking so I can put that yummy blue coolant in!

Thanks everyone for all the help & info this board provides

A BMW Tech told me today's green coolants meet the requirements for the aluminum blocks in the e34 and are perfectly adequate for the purpose. I still bought BMW blue koolaid I had a BMW dealership replace the Aux water pump when i had them replacing the drive belts and doing the State Safety Inspection and i assumed they would flush but they just topped off. My coolant looks bright green but i also added some RedLine Water Wetter just for the hell of it.Supposedly drops the temp 30 degrees..Where do you dispose of the old coolant?

Where do you dispose of the old collant?

Good question....I'll probably call some quick lube places and see if they take it...

Also, I'm assuming (hoping?..knock on wood) for pretty much no coolant loss over the next 2 years, in which case, the extra 10 bucks a gallon is completely worth it to put the bmw coolant in.

umm...you shouldnt have pre mixed the coolant!

the engine still has a lot of water in it after the flush. figure the total capacity and add half with pure coolant then finish by adding water.

your final mix will be weak if not done like this.

Flush went very well!

I'll 'test' it more with a few hrs of highway driving tomorrow.
