Has anyone heard of modifying a fuel injected engine to a carburetor?

everybody went from carbs to injectors.

I certainly don't miss working on carbs

Russ Turner on www.Ferrarichat.com has done so with his Mondial with impressive HP gains. He changed from the Bosch CIS injection to four Weber carbs (V8). Probably the only carbureted and fastest Mondial you'll ever see. Last I heard he gained about 100 HP over stock with countless fuel mapping, jetting and dyno pulls.
I'll see if I can dig up the threads.

Changing from programmable electronic fuel injection to carburetion would be a step backwards on a street driven car. For drag racing it would be a different story.

You have to register to see the pictures but here are some shots of a CIS converted 3 liter Ferrari V8 to 4 Weber down draft carbs.. He is getting close to 300 HP from 3 liters at the flywheel and it's still streetable. http://snipurl.com/y1uy

Here are some dyno figures from 2004 when he was first setting this up, showing stock output and revised/corrected. http://snipurl.com/y1vc

Thanks Spasso. Just the kind of thinking I was looking for in my research.

Go to www.ferrarichat.com and look for all of the threads by "snj5" and you will reap all the research you can possibly use. This guy is really good.

If you start supercharging or turbocharging then EFI is the ONLY way to do it right.

that would be the only real option.

Lots of fun to jet, sync and tune.

But they will roar when opened up.
