I just wanted to share that I recently hit 200,000mi on my '90 535i and I'm loving more than ever before! Runs like the day it rolled off the assembly line. :)

Woot! I'm nearing...

For as little as I drive it, it's gonna take awhile though.

Congatulations!

I've 80,000 miles to go :(

What problems have you had in that 200,000 - anything serious or all regular wear items?

no big problems while I've had it. The clutch went a couple thousand miles ago, but it had lasted quite a while. The prev. owner replaced the head. No big troubles for me though.

Just installed some HIR 9011 bulbs and now I LOVE driving at night even more :)

92 735i,,, 238K and runs like a dream,,, idles very smooth,,, lots of power with the cheap $38 chip I got from ebay... That cheap chip was a huge umprovement in idle and power,,, steering is flawles with absolutely no play in the wheel... fixed that myself haha with help from this site... Whoever had the car before me kept up with the maintainence and I am too... This site and the people here are fantastic and without it I wouldn't have a clue on how to fix anything but I have done and learned a hell of alot to be able to maintain and fix my car and my friends... Thanks to everyone thats helped me...:D

OK Guy's, Eat your hearts out!
1989 525i, original M20 & original auto tranny, 316,550mi. and still will bust 125mph! Still gets 27.5 mpg (when I drive like I have some sense, I have to remind myself it's not my old F-4 Phantom)

1990 535i, 5-spd, 249,670mi, all original (except for the clutch), this baby is what a 5 series is all about. I recently got it "chipped" with a Dinan chip and it is very civilized until you "get down on it". There are more than one Mustang GT owners here in Knoxville Tennessee that have been BMW "Chastized"!!!!!!!!

How much do those run, and did you see a coresponding increase in gas mileage, or just raw power?

180,000 miles and running strong as ever. Fantastic car that I can not figure out how to part with it. So, why not just keep it, right. I'm planning a 200,000 mile party for it. With RD headers and an EAT chip it winds out like an E46 M3. Only an E34 M5 gets me more excited.
