Been having near death experiances every once in a while, car would just stop, then instanly run. Well today it would start run then go off, did that afew times then ran. But began the near death thing a few times.

I replaced the ground between the block and the chassis, and I thought all was well, but now I suspect the DME relay is dying.

What else should I buy while I am in the mood to shop at the dealer?

Trying to get a hold of a friend at the dealership, so I can get the parts at his price.

I'll do an post mortum on the relay once I have a replacement...just incase I F it up. Don't wanna be stuck.

started the car early to see if there was any cold start issues, and it fired up fine and ran.

Have a cup of coffee and the three S's and head off to work.

1st stop light the car dies, restart, and dies, restart and turn around and go home and swap out the IVC for a spare, and make it to work.

hmm, what else could be failing? ECU temp sensor, pulse generator, fuel pump, AFM...the list is getting longer

Symptoms: sudden intermittent shut down, just like you turned the ignition off/on real fast while driving.

Fix: DME relay- $12.71 @ dealer

Symptoms: stalling/dying at a stop while idling (cold).

Fix: ICV- spare FREE

Bob, I'm having similar intermitent symptoms. Did your check engine light come on? If so, was the code a 1262?

Thanks for following up,

Dave M

but did not stay on after a restart on the idle stalling/dying.

The whole dash would light up like you just started up with the DME relay failing. and once the ABS light stayed on too until I restarted.

Yeah, same with mine, but the code was retrievable even when the CEL dissapeared.

Oh well, if it continues I have your fixes. Thanks again,
