Awe man... why Hamster? He's not Mr. "POWAAAAH" like Clarkson, so why'd he get stuck doing it?

I figured it would be the Stig. May have to find something to launch over(?) a caravan in his honour.

That's no good, I hope he makes a full recovery. Top Gear is a great show James, Jeremy, and Richard have such a great rapport together.

Putting a TV presenter who is not really a highly trained driver in a 300 MPH jet car seems like a somewhat poorly thought out idea.

Found this update today on Hammond, guess we will never see a hamster go that fast again unless Richard Gere turns gay again

It seems his condition has improved from "serious but stable" to "stable," whatever that means. More here:

The website I linked to a few posts up seems to be keeping up to date on the latest news.

he has also said a few words to co-presenter james may, james believes that the hamster is fully intact

James May has been on the radio saying he believes he's ok indeed...

I'll get my stepbrother to go and give well wishes (lives just down the road from Hamster) to his family... In fact, best ring my lil sister and check she's ok... She's his number 1 fan!

I wish the chap a full recovery and soon too ! He seems to be a great enthusiast.......we don't need any more fatherless children out there for the sake of thrills alone.I enjoyed all of the super humans that have perished recently. Such a shame.
