audacity to kick/dent my car, fuhrtermore may their arms be severed and the only thing available to itch their crotch be my glowing hot catalytic converter.

ok....

Last night someone put a dent in my passenger side front door, a little under and after the mirror (on the top part of the door, above that "fold line")
The dent appears as if i could removed the interior trib of the door and pop it out that way, but it is fairly large. I did not notice any scratches by it, but there was something looking like a shoe kick lower on the door. I havent washed the car to inspect more closely as to retain evidence. Will post pictures soon.

Several question arise from this incident:

Is this a DIY dent pull/push (what does the inside of the door look like, can one access the dent and push it out) is this overly simplified and is dent pulling/pushing a much trickier affair??

I have scoured the web for remote key fob so i can utilize my installed bmw alarm system (namely the shock sensor). It seems like the original one for my 95 525 is rare and pricey! i have found generics that claim compatability for around 40-50. Is there ANY way i can use my alarm system without keyless entry?? Is anyone selling theirs for a reasonable price?

Finally, i live on a campus.... campus security will not do anything but take a report, (i have lost my in car phone antenna before..). I am in my new found state of hopefully temporary paranoia. open to perhapsbuying a cheap walmart surveilance camera and mounting it near. anyone have expirience with this, any other ideas, or mind talking me out of it?

Thanks!

hmmm, I haven't looked recently but the fob to operate your BMW/Alpine keyless entry system used to be all over eBay.

The 95 525i came with the little black rectangular remote fob w/3 buttons...

All you have to do is insert the chip from the remote fob you find and place it into the control unit (under the rear seat) to initialize it...then stick it back into the remote fob...

I just went to eBay and typed in BMW keyless remote fob...and right there were the two types of remote fobs you can use...here's a link to both:

autobody 101... start at the initial point of impact and work out from there.

I dont know if you have any access in the door. Might want to drop past a few auto body shops for an estimate, doesn't sound very pricey from your discription.

Any public parking areas freak me out if I can't remain in complete eye contact with Nika.

Hopefully the guy broke his ankle kicking the door and the dent was from his head on the way down to the ground :D

Updated initial post, added pictures. Bodywork savvy people, is this a hard fix, will it look like new or will there be marks left from where the metal bent?

Qsilver7, i found the same remotes as you did, but $50-60 is much too steep for a remote, i will lurk ebay for a cheaper one.

Till then, does anyone know of a way to set alarm without key fob?

This looks like a job for a paintless dent removal guy. Contact local car lots for recommendations. Some PDR guys will come to you and fix it, like windshield guys do.

Should be able to get it out with a paintless dent removal as said above--I had a nasty dent on my passenger side rear quarter from an idiot little girl kicking her door open from the backseat and slamming into my car. I was in the car at the time and I thought someone had literally driven their car into mine. Right after my $4600 paint job.

Dent Wizard had the dent completely out in less than 30 minutes, you couldn't even tell it was there.
