How do I go about this? He has Glen Burnie, MD on his forum profiles including this one:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/community/profile.cfm?section=profile&forum=1&memid=204824

That house is listed for sale. Maybe someone can have an agent let them in. Only prob is there is no date associated with the addresses, they just come off the credit report.

It came off my visa debit card.

Easy. Call VISA, and explain what happened. Have them dispute/charge back. If they won't do it, speak to the bank where the funds were originally deposited.

debit cards are not the same as a credit card, there is no recourse because simply "you authorized the transfer" Never ever use Debit cards. Sometimes if you get a real understanding person they will reverse the charges but it's very rare.

Easy. Call VISA, and explain what happened. Have them dispute/charge back. If they won't do it, speak to the bank where the funds were originally deposited.

Yeh I know, I have had good results going through paypal but not this time. I already waited the 10 days and paypal isn't going to get me any money. I like how the case is now "closed" and has been "resolved".

After careful review, we have concluded our investigation of the Buyer
Complaint described below.

We have decided in your favor, however, we were unable to recover any funds
from the seller's account. As stated in the PayPal User Agreement, recovery
of funds associated with a Buyer Complaint cannot be guaranteed.

Please know that we will make our best effort to recover the funds in
question if they become available in the seller's account in the future and
will take appropriate action against the seller. Such action may include
issuing a warning, a temporary restriction, or terminating the account.
Keep in mind that PayPal uses a number of factors to determine when to take
action, including member complaints. Due to privacy laws, we cannot discuss
the details of any action taken. We hope you understand our policy and that
it assures you that you are safe using PayPal.

I bought a transmission from a guy that blatently ripped me off for 3500.00, he happened to be a Mod on the board in question and his policy was to ban the entire range of my Ip's, couldnt warn anyone on that board. Nice practice especially since he was moniterily well off.

This really reminds me of Jim Howe the trans guy:

I just got this e-mail after no contact from him since Aug 29th. I did send him some mildy harassing e-mails which apparently set him off a bit. It seems to confirm my suspicion that he was not intentionally trying to scam people but a flake who probably blew my $225 on internet porn.

I'm so glad I read these every day...... as I just happen to have his (cell/work?) phone number.

(443)848-9257

I offered to go down and take a bunch of parts off for him, take time off to do so, then he tells me that day and says he sold the entire car, but was still offering parts from it. I thought at the time that he was just a flake, but now I guess I see the scam.

I would call him personally, and tell him that either he fixes it during the course of one phone call, or you call the police and have him charged with wire fraud, and theft. The reason Paypal can not recover the funds is probably that he doesn't have any money in the account.

If you need any more info, I live about 30 mins from him, be glad to make some calls.

Anyone know the name of his realtor?

Qube
09-12-2006, 07:43 PM
First thing to do.. get all your evidence including emails, then file a police report. They don't actually have to investigate. Call Visa and tell them to file a debit reversal. Yes. It's possible. Tell them you have a police report if there are issues. Next, CANCEL or CHANGE your Visa on file because your PayPal balance will go negative, and PayPal will just go on it's merry way and take money from your linked bank or credit/debit card account.

Enjoy your money back.

Some good news to report though. The bumper I bought off ebay was waiting for me when I got home. I almost cried!:p So I can finally get my car to the body shop. I get a free rental while it is there, hopefully my buddy at enterprise can get me something better than a cobalt.

Wire fraud is still 10K per with Federal pound me in the ass prison time. This guy will still have no money and free rent, but his choice in women with vagina's will be severely restricted. The maryland D.A. will look at it seriously if it's over $1500 aggregate/total for wirefraud.

Sorry about that airborne. I live in North Bethesda myself. The D.A. and police will be happy to help you, especially since he dabbles in real estate in their back yard.

09-13-2006, 09:15 AM
I agree. I've been on the net a while and have read stories about scams small and large. That last email saying stuff like 'I know it's my fault', 'I got scammed by my freind and that's why you got scammed', 'I want to pay you back but I'm poor too' and 'here's a payment schedule to pay you back' is textbook delay tactics. I bet you that first payment never comes. Then when you call (if he hasn't changed his number) you get more excuses and delays.

I could be wrong but this just sounds soo familiar.

Is there any way to find out how many other people bought parts from him but didn't get anything? If you found out what he's telling other people and the stories don't mesh then it might be time to go to the cops.

Sent him $120.00 for small parts through paypal..good thing I did that because originally I was to pay him M.O. Underneath is his email to me after receiving the payment, prior to this as we are closing on the deal after continous back and forth email he just stopped replying to my emails when he replied he told me that a guy actually paid for the whole car. But when he deposited the check it wa on hold becuase of the guy's wife putting on hold w/o letting the husband know about it.
We are actually using my shipping account ot ship the parts, offered call tags as he said he doesn't have the time to ship them, I actually intended to send somebosy to go to his place and pack the parts up for him and ship so basically he has noothing to do anymore but obviously it's what happened. He has different sets of stories ready I guess. Took my case with paypal and a friend of mine who knows some FEDs near his area and is helping me out, things happen you know and we all are educated, level headed people here and would understand the situation if he could been honest. One thing I hate are dis honest people.

THAT is a process not worth a couple hundred bucks in my mind. I think that the e-mail evidence with the few people on this list & maybe others on the flea should be plenty for the authoritI (said like Cartman) to find this joker.

I have this sneaky suspicion that you are dealing with a Donnie Jr. I can not imagine any 35 year old man typing in such a fashion--especially when he is trying to plead a case & make you give him a break. Worst case is he's underage and they just slap his wrists.

The blatant lies would certainly make up my mind. Retribution is normally a part of a sentence--if it gets that far. I was pleasantly surprised when I got several hundred dollars for damages caused when my car was stolen several years after the fact.

Worst part about this is I can't trust you f*ckers in this close community anymore.:D

Wow, really? I'm the one who got the driver's side fender. I got it no problem. I had it shipped to a shipping/receiving company right over the border and I took it back over the border. That was about 3 weeks ago. I had good contact with him via e-mail.

I hope he's not refering to me about the bumper! I only got the fender and didn't see any bumper there. If it was well packed and not addressed to me, then it's probably still there. If it is, I never saw it. They do not deal with customs there. You come and pick your stuff up and deal with customs yourself. Perhaps you can give them a call to check. The fender arrived in Champlain on August 22 2006 at 10:56. They are really nice and helpful people there. They usually keep the stuff 30 days then return it if unclaimed.

I got a PM from someone who claims he received his parts in Canada. Maybe there is some truth to the friend shipping everything to customs. The guys says he will send me payment on the 22nd, not sure if he responded to anyone else? I know it sound like typical delay stuff but I am gonna see if I get any money by then before calling the police.

Has anyone else heard from the seller?

I'm the one who sent you a P.M. read my post, #40.... There's the number of the shipping warehouse I use in Champlain and where he claims the bumper was sent along with the fender. Maybe they can tell you if it's still there...

Let's be clear about this... On my end, NOTHING was shipped to Canada... My fender was shipped in Champlain, in the USA... I took it across the border. The shipping warehouse DOES NOT take stuff across the border. If the bumper was shipped with the fender It could still be there...

I am also a local... I would be willing to take a cruise up there and see what the deal is.
