Whats up everyone?

My uncle is looking at a 92 735i with immaculate int. and good exterior. 145K Miles with recently installed Cams(dont know why) Are these cars pretty similar to 5 series or are they a completely different beast? Oh yeah, the seller is asking $5700 for it.

Cheers

Have a fun weekend everyone!

They are GREAT cars. I've had 3 all bought used, one used up but then fine after deferred maint addressed. The 735 is far less worry than a 750 and is almost as nice.
Same weaknesses as E34 pretty much plus they tend to go through driveshafts. The m30 is a great motor too.
5700 sounds steep for 15 yrs/145k but WTF
If it's a good example he will love it!

Newly installed cam*

It's the M30 engine, same as in the 535i. Bulletproof as hell, if well-maintained will see 300k on the odometer. Never drove a 7, but I sure do love the m30 ;)

Try to talk him down to maybe 5, and check out the maintenence for sure.

M30 engines suffer from the infamous loose banjo bolts on the oil spray bar. This may explain the new camshaft.

Good choice. You can use lots off stuff from the E34 for the E32 visa versa.
Onley dash, backseat and shell parts are not to use although i heard storys about the backseat who were installed in a E34.
Motor is indeed bullitproof but on the 6th cilinder the cam can make a rattle after 200000 mls.
