For a while now I've had the urge to row a gearbox again.
An '88 528e manual found me today. I was never too enthused about that body style but after 20 years of seeing 'em I guess I've gotten used to it.
So far so good,usual front end issues at 110k,sloppy shifter bushings and a bad shudder under braking from speed.
Anyhow the glove box won't open, the key operates the lock but the @#$^%# won't open. I'VE READ THE POSTS but all refer to our beloved E34.
I've taken the rear hinge off to lower the back of it but have not seen a way to get at the latch.
Do any of you guys have any experience with this model??
Perhaps tomorrow in the light of day it will be apparent but it looks like I may need to get medieval.
I can here stuff rattling around in there and I know it's not old leaky pens and stale cookies but fine jewelry and wads of cash in rubber bands. I really want to open this.
