Peter Brock, the king of the mountains is dead.****! Brockie gone (http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200609/s1736869.htm)... oh my...

From ABC News:
Fatigue, track possible causes of Brock's crash

A leading rally driver says fatigue may have led to the crash in which Australian motor racing legend Peter Brock died.
The 61-year-old was killed instantly yesterday when he lost control of his car on a tight bend and crashed into trees during the Targa West Rally in Gidgegannup, east of Perth.

His navigator Mick Hone was injured and remains in a stable condition in hospital.

Peter Brock showed off his silver Daytona coupe before the Targa rally.

Tributes flow for Brockie (http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200609/s1736773.htm) for the King of the Mountain
(http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200609/s1736740.htm)---

For those that don't know, this guy is a national icon having driven more GM cars to more victories in the local racing scene than anyone (by a large factor). He was a national icon, retired for some years.

Terrible news, but at least he died the way doing what he did best.

His life has been cut short by a good two decades. Racing IS dangerous everybody. Let's not have any more board members fail to learn from these and other tradgedies. We don't have egos and fame driving us! (which is usually what kills racing drivers (young and old). Brockie was not that though, he was just downright unlucky- he barely drives- this was a charity thing. :( Nick

Damn Brockie too!. This is too much.

Lets get grip on this. At least its very hard to kick-the-bucket sitting in from of the darn PC for hours every day. I hardly had time driving my car for goodness sake.

RIP Brockie!. Sadly missed.....

With all these culturally significant, famous 'legends in their own lifetimes' kicking the bucket, I am starting to fear for fukem5's life... has anyone heard from him?
