That plastic pan that goes under the engine to catch drips and whatnot: I'm trying to find the part number on realoem.com so I can price it out locally, but so far no luck after an hour of paging around. It's for my '90 UK model 525i; last 7 digs of serial number are BK98522. Which main group is it in?

You'll have to look up a 535 model to see the pan. It didn't come on the 525 in that year.

I have tried a few times to buy one and had no luck.

Both my cars don't have it, but they all have the mounting studs for it.

I took mine off and discovered a very small oil leak (not even enough to make the level change between changes, but it leaves a drop every now and then).

The funny thing is, I already have a belly pan, but I'm in the midst of negotiating a complex horse trade that, if it all works out, will wind up with me swapping my '90 525i (with pan) and some other stuff for a '92 525i (sans pan). To make a long story short, I'll leave out the boring details, but I want to keep my pan without shorting the other guy on an opportunity to get a pan.

Nice looking K-ike you got there Dave, have you rode the newer K-1200's?

Thanks. Nope, haven't ridden a new K yet. I went to the nearest dealer a few weeks ago to try one but was deliberately ignored by the salesdroids. I guess I look too much like a biker and not enough like their usual lawyer 'n' dentist clientele.
