Here's a new one...

Start the car and it fires up fine...But

I notice the stereo display is black, the cluster is totaly dead except for these indicators:

Both Turn signals

Safety belt light

Fog light

Brake fluid

I sit there looking over the cluster and what is on and off to try to determine what could be failing.


I turn on the headlights and the whole thing come to life like I just started the car..service lights everything.


What is going on?

Would it be safe to assume that you had a chance to check out all the fuses/relay's and such? I know www.e34.de had ALOT of electrical layouts, and there was even a downloadable .zip that had things in english if your german is as bad as mine :P

since it comes back to life, a fuse would just die...

so it must be something that's sneaking up like a failing relay.

Anybody know which one could be the suspect?
