View Full Version : paint the wheels black?

Was listening to the Rolling Stones before, and it got me thinking. I'm in the process of a red/black theme with the car. Should I have the M Pars redone in gloss black with a polished (or red) lip?

I see you working. The chrome fasteners and red Brembos bring it together

Bro I think it's great the way it is w/o paint.

I'm not feeling the black or the red, but I must admit I'm old.

Don't mess with perfection! M-pars are sweet as-is. OEM or replicas don't paint em.

Black centres, polished lips.. No red on the wheels, to me it'd look a bit chavvy (ricer to you guys i believe)

Black does look nice, but "au naturel" is best.
Save the black paint for when you get the wheels refinished in a few years, spend the money on something better...;)

well the thing is the wheels are in the process of being refinished. all curb rash being eliminated, and the bent one is being fixed. i know the guy doing it so he's holding them for a day or two til i decide whether to go black or not. you know what they say.....

Please, no red though.

Your rims circumference looks larger with natural finish. I like that alot. Gives a feeling of big rims i nthe the whhel arch. I was thiniking black rims also, but decided that its too much. But it does depend on the car. I choose Natural finish, no black.:D

true enough, but it's probably in South Africa getting ****ed up in some off road rally by somebody who can't drive worth a ****.:D

Did you see that video a couple of weeks ago?--LOL

P.S. I think the gold wheels **** is the bomb. Reminds me of the old & gold E28 whills that where top notch in the early nineys!--It finally brings a "finished fit" to the image of your car as well.

Cocaine was a hell of a drug, Rick.:p

heh, nah, it's owned by a guy in Jersey that treats it as well as JR treats his ///M5. there are a ton of pictures of it over on bf.c.

I think I might end up going with the gold wheels, it will be the most ballinist **** evarrrrrrr :p

You're gonna have to change your screen name to "Slow Kuuked Rice" though, LMFAO!...maybe "Happy Sushi" as like an all encompasing homage to the slow simmering of timeless Rice production on a pimped out Euro.

I think the gunmetal or the gold looks good. But only if the painted part has a satin finish like a stock wheel. IOW, super shinny gold plated wouldn't look good, IMO.

But whatever you decide, keep it simple. Keep the class of the car in mind. Too many colors and it starts to look rediculous.

Red to match the body paint. Looks pretty good in the p-shop.

I actually like it plain but having you wanted to paint it I'd go for the gun metal but stock color bolt. I agree with Wjbell, you have to keep in mind the cars class don't over color it.
nice photoshop guys atleast gives us all a better picture of the choices.

I'm leaning towards the satin finish gunmetal.

If I had my powdercoating kit setup yet I'd say I'd do them for you.. But it prob won't be until next year.. In any event, a nice satin finish gunmetal, or even a gunmetal anondized finish would look crazy.

I'm leaning towards gunmetal also. Of course I'm biased because I painted mine that color. I think gunmetal m-pars would look pretty damn good on your car.

i would paint them satin black, but leave the outer rim polished , it gives the wheel more depth

upon seeing Qube's latest photoshop.....

Satin black powdercoat parallels, gunmetal lip, gunmetal lugnuts, black on white carbon emblem.

no color, but it still has "push" to it.

there would be too much red

Michael999
09-06-2006, 03:44 PM
Id leave them as they are, maybe just a polished lip, but dont paint the centre.

Perhaps just use a Red bmw logo centre cap? it may help bring the red theme down there
