I was thinking of recovering the center part of my door panels in leather. I was thinking of doing them like the 95 e34's where they have a little gather to them. I was also thinking it might look nice to have the center part I recover just a shade darker leather than the rest of the interior. Anyone know of any sites dealing with this?

I washed the car tonight and took some new pics so I thought I'd post em...

Very nice! Too bad she's not a manual!

Keep her clean ;) (seems like you're doing a good job thus far)

EDIT: Time for some clears :D

you will probly have to talk to a local upholstery shop to get that done, esp in dif color leather. iirc there are a few threads on door , panel restoration, they're hidden here. you could pull the middle off and do it in suede/alcantara, that would be dope as hell.

I plan on redoing each door with silver suede inserts(black leather) and a 5.25inch focal midrange fiberglassed in. Its part of my 3 way set and I wanna get those in soon. I'll post pics of my progress when i start that.

Thanks guys! Since I bought it in about 5/05 I've done a lot of things to it. It was in pretty good condition when I bought it aside from a couple major things. A lot of it was just going through and fixing a little things here and there. I've put so much time and care into it I don't think I could ever sell it. (I'm sure a lot of us here feel that way) The problem is now, I'm running out of things to do to it! I guess I have to pull it out of the garage once in a while and actually drive it! I've owned it for about a year and four months and only put about 3500 miles on it. :)

Things I've done:

Head gasket
windsheild
front struts
3mm spring pads (OEM)
dent by licence plate fixed and repainted
front end repaint due to small accident by machanic
M-tech side skirts and paint (found a set for $50!)
exterior black trim replaced or repainted
added glove box strut
new brake switch (tail light warning)
headliner
rear sun shade (non OEM :( )
drivers seat twist fix
headrest cable fix
alarm with keyless entry and the LED installed in the stock location (center console next to rear ash tray)
wheel, hood and trunk roundels

Yeah, the seats are in pretty good condition. I still can believe that's 16-year-old leather. I think the back seat was hardly used. You sit back there and it's like sitiing in a puffy leather couch, well almost..

that seat looks brand new! Mine has gotten real bad even though I used all the proper leather treatments.

:)
Yeah, the seats are in pretty good condition.

Yikes! I've owned my 540i/6 for about three weeks and I've put on 2K miles already.
