As I just recently sold the # 100 set in Japan, here the instructions once more (japanese language, but the pics help)

It started that I imported some sets for my friends in the E32 club here, but more and more people wanted to have it, as the dealer only sells complete door handles, not the gaskets only.
They fit to E32/E34/E36 and Z3
Here you can get them directly, I do not want to have any profit from that

Makes the car a complete new fit.
I hated that old stuff, and the water also goes into the inner side of the door

VERY nice! A lot easier to R/R that I would have thought. Might pick a couple sets of these up from you.

Alright, finally doing this...Having the hardest time getting the little two piece cap off though. Without scratching anything, especially.

Any tips? Since everything on your DIY is in Japanese.

Damn! That easy? I waited all this time dreading about ripping out the door panel to access it...

There's a piece inside the door that locks the black outer trim piece into it's slots. You have to slide it forward or backward (can't remember which) to release the little tabs so you can pull the outer door handle cover out of the door.

If you still can't get it let me know and I'll see if I can take some pics of an old door I have around here.

Yeah, I'm not even that far yet...Still struggling to get the 2 piece cap that covers the hole on the door jamb.

How do I get that off without scratching the crap out of the door?

are those pics not enough to understand?

Better buy a new one, I know it from experience, that cap gets hard over the years and breaks. Maybe in the other doors there is no cap any more, they fall off.

I looked at mine yesterday thinking of doing this as they are in bad shape.

The caps seem very hard and brittle, maybe punch a hole in it and pry it out from the center to avoid chipping paint around it. Then replace them with new ones, can't be TOO expensive.

Let us know how easy it is when you do it?!

Yeah, I've got the gaskets sitting in my garage waiting to go in..
I also need to take apart the rear driver's side door to see why it isn't locking and unlocking electrically.. so I'll kill two birds with one stone there.. Too bad it'll prob be springtime before I do it.

In any event, Thank you Shogun for bringing this alternative to our attention. I know often times the thanks and appreciation doesn't always get expressed on these forums, as on most. Especially to someone who contributes so much..
