I dun get it, '540i 5speed manual sports box'? Is that a typo? Can the 540 gearbox even handle 500 hp?

Possibly the stupidest move ever IMO. The CSL might someday be worth a lot of money due to the relative rarity of the car [not to mention the car cost 40% more than a standard M3 out of the box], and someone shoehorned a heavy ass V8 over the front wheels. Nice work, but it should have been done on a run-of-the-mill M3. Why would someone pay the ludicrous price difference for a CSL only to add weight to it???

S62 is aluminum block, S54 is steel. Weight difference isnt that big of a. Thats why the e34 525i and the 540i both have 50-50 weight. I agree with you on not ruining the CSL, should of gone with a normal M3
