I'd like to get that. What are the safeguards to prevent it from dropping my oil on the highway?

The lever drops into a little slot. When you open it you need to lift and turn.
I've used 'em and like them.

Hmmm spend $20 bucks to save a few seconds and paper every 6 months or so (Mobil 1). Nah... though it's interesting.

Does it mount to the oil pan? what if on lowered cars, you hit something and it snaps off. That would suck.

I had it on a Suburban( dino every 3K) so ground clearance was not an issue. It was great, just reach in turn the lever. Didn't need to jack it or anything. On a Bimmer you need to remove the plastic cover; so whats one more screw? It was less than ten bucks when I bought one also.
