I was poking around the engine bay this morning when I discovered a very deteriorated vacuum hose coming off of my intake boot and going somewhere towards the engine block. I've been trying to identify it on realoem:

The problem is that this schematic doesn't really match up to what I see under the hood. Part 10 in the diagram appears to start at the bottom of the boot and travel upwards, but mine is more or less horizontal and downward. I don't know whether this is the right part. Has anyone else dealt with this before?

Nope, I definitely searched. Maybe I don't know the right term; I just figured it was a vacuum hose.

I've banged on about leaks and pipes plenty of times in the past :)
