View Full Version : Okay, somebody refresh me on what's involved in changing the oil pan gasket

I spent a few hours this weekend removing the A/C compressor and bracket so I could clean, seal and tighten up the two bolts holding the crank sensor bracket, which is where I though my major oil leak was. WRONG!!! It appears that the oil pan gasket is squeezed out a bit right at the front of the pan, next to the harmonic balancer. I'd like to get my engine sealed up since I just bought a new house with a nice shiny concrete floor. So, I suppose I'm going to have to bite the bullet and fix this problem. I checked Bruno's site but didn't see any FAQ's on changing the oil pan gasket. Can someone give me the quick rundown and include any of those pain in the neck type things they encountered while doing theirs?

Grace and peace,
