Just picked up a 1995 525I T. I have a cracked left rear taillight. I checked the eom site as a cross reference. It showed two different part numbers for the sedan and touring, but the picture also showed two differnt parts sets included with the light. So, I'm confused. Anyone ever try a sedan rear light in their touring?

BTW: I'm a crazy car guy. Here's my 914. It's known as the Alien.

why are they advertising E34 SEDAN tallights?
"BMW Clear Tail Light Assem PAIR for ALL E34 Sedans"

Probably because the touring has different ones. ??

Hi Ricola--cool 914...must be a beast with that V8 in there...

To answer your question, the touring and sedan lights are in fact different. Tourings are harder to find but there are several board members who have swapped their OEMs out for clears or smoked that you may be able to buy one from. Good luck!

Is this a slam on my first post? I think it's a valid question... But I guess we should all be as smart as you. Then there would be no need to comunicate. Thanks for your help...:D

Thanks,

It's a hand full! Look for a feature in an up coming edition of Exellence magizine.

You post of clears and smoked lights. Do you know of a source for the Touring? There are lots of sedan lights on ebay...

No, actually it's all Porshe. 1980 euro spec 928 "S" motor. 300+ HP. Check the photo. We call this the "Money Shot" check the reflection.. in the black rear lid.

Crap! Files too big. Thumb nails too small. I changed the photo in the first post. Man I had to shrink that one down.

I can confirm that the Touring has different lights. All you have to do is look at the back of a Touring to see. Look around the corner and you can tell, the Touring lamp assembly "slants" a bit while the sedan it's "straight".

Tourings have different buckets of lights and they don't make clears for them. You should buy a second pair of buckets and mod them yourself.

This is the only outfit that helps you in this endeavor.

http://www.radicast.se/usd/index1usd.html used to be called reproglas, but these are where I bough mine. You have to dremel out your ambers, shape your clears and glue them in. I put a little tint on the inside before gluing to make them a tad smoked (basically put a dot of smoke tint and then wiped almost all of it out)

Only photo I have now. You can see the chipped light. I've only had it a week. Since I bought it I replaced the fuel sender, and the front struts. I think someone tried to sypon the gas and broke the sender with the hose.

I'll shoot some with Lake Superior in the back ground soon.

The clear lens you installed looks very nice. That is exactly the section of tail light that is broken on my touring.

I will be placing an order on that link soon!

530ITouring,

Can you do me a favor? I won my 525I T on ebay. The seller listed the vehicle with all the roadside tools in place. But when I checked the storage in the hatch all the tools were missing.

I can see some of what was supposed to be in the hatch pocket. But a few things aren't marked.

Can you take a photo of you tools in your hatch pocket and post it? I will forward the photo to the seller for a reference. He stated he will replace the missing tools If I can show hime what is gone.

TIA
Rick

Yep, that's it. Don't try to use that warning triangle unless you have a sand bag to keep it from blowing away....no need to ask me how I know that.. ;)

Best to order those clear lenses asap. They take about a month to get to you. When they arrive, give me a headsup and I will walk you thru the tricks to getting it right.

Might as well get the clear sidemarkers and blinks too...and go clear all the way. It's a great look
