I just replace my ecu chip and alternator. The car doesn't rev down very quickly and sometime not at all. The throttle cable isn't stuck nor is the pedal. It never did this with the last chip. Also the Check engine light flashes when accelerating using more than 1/2 throttle. I can't get the codes since the light isn't on all the time. I have searched the forum and fould nothing. I just swapped engines from a 3.0 to a 4.0 v8 and I put a 4.0 chip in the ecu. Any help would be deeply appreciated. I am out of ideas.

does it work right with the stock chip?

It kindof surged with the other chip. It would idle around 400-500 and shoot up to 1000-1500rpm by itself at idle. That might have because of a dead alternator, because I broke my own rule and did two things at once and now I don't know which one messed it up. I will change the chip out for the stock 3.0 v8 that I recently replaced. Do you think it would hurt to drive a 4.0 v8 with the 3.0 chip?

I wouldnt use the 3.0 chip but who knows. The 4.0 chip wont work well with the trans being different because the 3.0 chips control some of the trand shift functions. Might want to give Mark Dysilva a shout and see what he has to say about this.
