1997 328is, very stiff steering, with the engine running it was a bit better as compared to no power steering pump, so I assumed that it was something internal in the rack. After replacing the rack...still no change...the pump? any other ideas? When turn the wheel, it seems to be stiffer in spots, the shaft doesn't appear to be making contact with anything, and the car has never been in any accident that would bend anything around...scratching my head, and after buying a rack I didn't need, not to happy. Any help would be appreciated...
