Hi all!
I've just bought a BMW 525i tourer (overheated a week later but fine since putting a metal water pump in :) ). Excuse the first post question! but I'm not at home and have to be quick. My bro bought one as well but has a warning light on, could someone tell me what it is as I havn't got the manual here with me. It s the light to the right of the handbrake light (2nd in form left).
Many thanks in advance Dave

... nope!

Maybe it's the airbag warning light but I'm sure Shogun will know the answer. ;)

"Brake Lining wear.

Comes on when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine has started. If the lamp comes on during a journey, renew the brake linings immediately.

Warning: only use brake linings approved by BMW, as teh General Operating Permint will otherwise be invalidated"

As displayed in the BMW Service Manual (page 35 on my copy).

Yes, my apologies, I realise that now. I didn't know what car my brother for deffo. He said it was like mine so I presumed it was a 5 series.
