I have a dragging feeling that just started on my 93 740i. When youre driving if you let off the gas the car leans slightly forward and feels like the front end is dragging. It also doesnt accelerate as well because of this. There is also a slight rubbing noise with it. I jacked it up this afternoon and spun both wheels and they only make about 1 rotation before stopping after giving it a decent push. You can hear a slight rubbing when doing that but its not excessive and it doesnt seem like it could affect the car. Just like the pads rubbing against the rotors. (the pads are less than half worn through) Any ideas as to what it could be?

Sounds like tranny... 5HP30 tranny... they have problem with valve body check ball that wears out and pass through a tunnel when it shouldn't... gives you a braking feeling because your reverse is actually partially activated even though you are in drive.

Call Kirt Koeller... All you need is a valve body rebuilt. I suggest you not drive anymore until you diagnose this problem... because otherwise you will break a band inside a tranny and then you need a total tranny job.

Think about having your kids pulling on your pants hard backward while you are trying to walk... Yes, I think so.

How much would an independent shop charge for the fix? And do you have Kirts number?
