E34 535i speedo broke

Iv a 89 535i and the speedo in not working everything else is workin, iv a speed displayed on computer to it is reciving an electronic speed but not to the clock is there two sepert speed sensors one for each??

it could be the dash electronics failing, as i suspect the only sensor that the ECU gets is the one in the diff. The one at the back of the tranny (if there is one) is only used the auto trans contol i believe.
