I am probably getting a used set of these wheels will I need the rings? I am not sure if they were made for a e34 or e39..
thanks

Did you ask? If the seller does not know, first of all, I would question the wheels. Secondly, see if there is a part number stamped and call Tire rack. I bet you could have figured this question out yourself.

if you will mount the wheels and the wheel will not stay fixed on the block then you will need the rings,or do a ride with 70-80miles/h and if the car and the steering wheel will bounce you certainly need the rings.
e39 wheels are incompatible without rings on e34,and viceversa.
e34=e32=e38 wheels(rings)
