Funny how you don't see until you look.
Was applying some Gummi Pflege to the door seals and saw for the first time the driver side front door seal (that attaches to the body) has a good tear in it. Did a search, found some good info, but still am unclear how new seal (Edge Protection (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=HD23&mospid=47408&btnr=51_1510&hg=51&fg=55)) is attached. Is an adhesive used or what?

TIA

Jim

Just pushed on the rim underneath. Use a wooden or rubber hammer. Usually they shrink over the years and then they become loose. I repaired my one by cutting it at the bottom and using this method my japanese friend Take made

Never checked the E34, but on my E36, it kinda clips over this lip running around the doorframe.

It has a main piece that's fuzzy on the passenger cabin side, and has 2 firm pieces that fit over the metal lip, and the rubber flexible side on the outside, so the door seals around it.

These are well over $100 on the E36 tho...?
