I'm moving to Maryland from PA, about a 250 mile trip. I am planning on renting a U-Haul for her and my ****. Question about the car tow behind the truck. First of all, anyone use this setup? Problems?

I am thinking of having all four wheels off the ground. Would having only the front two off the ground clock miles on the Odometer?

Gas wise, would it be cheaper for me to have a friend drive the car or to tow it? I am planning on renting the smallest truck (the 10 footer) with the best MPG... a whopping 12. But I will be able to make it on one tank.

Thanks in advance.

All 4 must be off when towing our cars. It would save you some gas $$ also to tow it, instead of driving... But that maryland drive can be nice at times. At least from Philly, which is only about 90 miles out.

You can tow it with just the rears off the ground, i've done it more than once. No harm will be done.

Ok, so I'm gonna go with the four wheel tow.
