WTB: Oil Level Sender

I'd like to purchase a working oil level sender/sensor for my 1989 535i. I believe the part number is 12611717394, and is pictured as #9 on this diagram...

I purchased one a few months ago from Vines Automotive. When I took the car to my local independent BMW shop for other service, they said the cable was too short. Has anyone heard of this?

Had to fix mine last year, and the lead from the sender is not very long.

Try to climb under the car and hook it up, see if it lines up.

This is something you can replace yourself during the next oil change.

just buy a new O ring for it, and swap it out.
