Will they fit, and if not, can they be fitted with hubcentric rings?

They will fit.

Hubcentric rings...I don't think so. 18'in style 5's are from the e38 right?

I have never seen an e38 with style 5's, not 18's at least. Do you have any pictures?

if they are straight off the e38 the tires wont fit. otherwise they will be fine. staggered, correct?

Yea, they fit fine. But weren't in the best of shape, and I didn't have time to polish them up like I would've liked to.

you'll be hard pressed to find them. they came on e38 740iL, I think. not many sets around, a lot of people went with the m-par's 18x8.5 and 18x9.5. this was the most recent set on ebay. $1900 + 250 shipping (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-chrome-BMW-BBS-rims-wheels-tires-e30-m3-e34-e31-e24_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ46093QQihZ013QQitem Z230007941896QQrdZ1)

talk to these guys (http://www.wheels-and-rims.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/car-wheels.html?wheel_id=1179&sid=8LpJDk1UQ9-i2@t-24106423387.82) but they told me that they haven't had a set of 18" style 5's around in a looong time. $420/wheel and those are reconditioned ones.

here's some pics of an e38 with the Composite Style 5 18" wheels...these pics were taken in Jan of 2004 on a lot where my bro-in-law purchased his 97 740iL. I took the pics because I had heard of them...but this was the 1st time I had seen them on an e38. The pics used to explode into a larger view...but suffered some fate of a server upgrade or something on the CarDomain site...and now only the small thumbnail pics is all that's left. You once could really get a great view of what they looked like. (sorry)

Here's the link to the online parts database diagram of the 18" Composite Style 5 wheel for the e38: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=GJ83&mospid=47531&btnr=36_0217&hg=36&fg=15

...and yeah...I think the e39 Composite Style 5 wheels are 17".

...so they should fit my 535i. It would look HOT with 18"s lowered 1.5". Is 1100 a good price for 4 in relatively good shape and Pilot Sport tires?

angrypancake

1100? hell yes. define "relatively good shape." but actually. yeah, if the tires are good and will fit, jump all over it, and post pictures or ban.

I like that look. They look much better then the 16 inch stock rims we often see.

angrypancake

wow. check the tire sizes though. 255/45/18 or whatever the e38 fitment is is too tall for e34.

mkaareng

Well, the fit the E39 well. However, they are 255/55R18. That means they don't fit then, or what? Hmmm.....

jbraswell

Man, I was trying to buy those. Whoever gets them, it sounds like a great deal. But yeah, 255/55 will definately not fit.. Im running 255/40 on my wheels and they rub over bumps with people in the back
