1992 525 won't start SLC Utah

1992 525i, 180k. My wife has the car on vacation. Ran fine on the road trip now won't start. Turns over but won't run. Car is normally at sea level and runs great. Is there something about the altitiude that could be the problem? ? Had her try playing wiht the gas pedal while turning over, nothing. I had her swap the fuel pump relay, no joy. No blown fuses. All lights and other indications are normal.

Any ideas? Anyone recommend a good BMW mechanic in Salt Lake?

if you arent getting spark its probably the crank position sensor, that seems to have happened to a few people this summer, probably the heat.

oh, and pressing the accel pedal while starting (if it started) is asking for trouble. 5000rpms before there is oil pressure could kill your car.

If you turn the key on and off 10 times and the car starts it is a fuel pump problem. This neat trick got right to the problem, car is fixed.
