WAIT! BEFORE YOU INSTALL THEM! http://www.bimmer.info/forum/showthread.php?t=24115

Now that this is out of the way... we can do this. You take pictures of the 'before' and I'll take pictures of the 'after' and do a write up :)

oh yeah the numbers on the lil bulb are either

P2,3
E126 or 2B couldnt really tell
51/64 or 54 couldnt really tell that either, cuz they are really small.

so it was those 3 rows of numbers on each bulb

Were you able to get the grill assembly off? That was the thing that kept me in the garage for a little while longer when I did euro headlights. Once that piece is off, it is all down hill from there, you just need a really long screw driver.

Darned it. I'm trying to reference that bulb here:
http://autolumination.com/74.htm

...but can't be sure. Is it possible at all to take a pic of the bulb out of the socket? I may just have to break down and tear mine up :)

this is the new light outlet thingy
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/weazman187/Picture2768.jpg

H1 12W 55W
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/weazman187/Picture2769.jpg

How's this coming along? As soon as a writeup is done, I'll definitely start looking for a set.

How much harder does the project become if I had HID into the mix?

I just got my depo lights tonight and had a question. How the heck do you get the cap off the end of the light to insert the bulb? After spending as much as I did, I am trying to be careful.

Cheers

Pliers.

The cap must be turned 30Degrees to be opened.
Nick. Hay, the Depos are in my opinion real crap, its just pure **** wrapped together so that it looks like a headlight!

The glass is so thin that it will breake just by looking at it.
The clips that hold the lamp to the adjusterscrews are so thin that they will break if you try to adjust the lights. The relay controlling the Halo rings have a selfdestruction device, so that it will completly dissapear by rust after 5months.

Im saying this after I learned it the hard way.

and yes depos are terrible, wish i woulda known' woulda got the smileys,

oh well , they look pretty good except for the hot spots:(

Heh.

Haven't had that happen with two sets yet *touch wood*

The clips that hold the lamp to the adjusterscrews are so thin that they will break if you try to adjust the lights.
Worse than OEM, but MUCH MUCH better than other aftermarkets. Oh yeah. Others are THAT bad.

The relay controlling the Halo rings have a selfdestruction device, so that it will completly dissapear by rust after 5months.
Hmmm... I wired it up to the parking lights so didn't use the relay.

Yea mine is also wired up to the parking lights, but i used the relay and wiring harness that came with it. It worked fine for a while then the relay died, so i just jumped the relay.

But now my Inpro nightmare is over, and im back to OEM :D :D

I got the depos and installed them a little while ago. I can't remember how I put them in, I didn't follow any tutorials or anything. I just unscrewed some nuts and bolts, removed the old ones, and put the new ones in.

Wiring them was a little bit of a hassle though, but I got it done with some spade connectors and drilling a small hole through the cap.

No problems with quality yet.

Just installed my new depot halo's today. Had to wait for nightfall to adjust the low beams. What a difference between the smileys that were on it and the new lights. I added 100 watt bulbs and they are hella bright. One thing I didnt do yet was actually hook up the halo portion. So far, so good though.
Just an fyi, I would have kept the smileys, but one of the previous owners did some customization to the caps that made them useless. :(

I wish somebody would have listed that halo/ring bulb number...
just had mine out again to replace the trims around the lights ( grills) and decided to up them to HID's , I even started to open them up but pushed for time. so far everything on the front end lighting is true white except for the angel eye rings....;)

Any updates on bulbs , and when i learn how i will post the pics..
Thanks Strap

I did search it and came up with the same question you originaly had.
Trying to figure out the right part number for those bulbs? rather than the it might be a 35/ or maybe a 67 ...
your last post on them was you coudnt find them either.
Thanks anyway , i will just pull them and go from there.

Actually I did find them. They're #74 or something. I forget. Search the posts I've made and you'll find it ;) I have to run.
